AIM
Will train students to assess the dynamics of offshore wind turbines structures (fixed and floating), appropriately modelling the main external loads and quantifying the dynamic response of the structure to these external loads.
METHOD
It is delivered adopting a flipped teaching approach:
- several pre-recorded lectures, reading material, and quick self-benchmarking activities are provided in advance. Students need to go through this material before the contact hours.
- The contact hours are dedicated to interactive, practical, individual/group numerical modelling and analysis activities, introduced and guided by the lecturer, including Q&A sessions.
Relevant case studies and exercises will be used to conduct the dynamic analysis of offshore structures and evaluating its effects on design and analysis of structures.
