We are delighted to welcome you to Strathclyde, the MSc in Clinical Health Psychology, and the Professional Practice class.

Are you interested in becoming a clinical or counselling psychologist?

The professional practice class will provide you with an evidenced-based introduction to professional issues and ethical standards required of practitioner psychologists in clinical practice.

You will gain insight into the importance of key professional bodies including The British Psychological Society (BPS), The Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC), and The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

Interviews for post graduate practitioner training (e.g D.Clin.Psy courses) often focus on an awareness of relevant professional and ethical issues and as such having an understanding of these issues is essential.

This class comprises of 5 topics in Semester 1. Each topic will involve a variety of asynchronous (i.e. live lectures, discussion forums, readings etc) and synchronous (i.e. live discussion sessions) teaching and learning activities. The class has been designed to allow you to explore topics through guided and independent study, and then have the opportunity to further explore and develop your learning through the interactive peer-guided discussion forums and tutorials.

Please do get in contact if you have any questions and I really hope you enjoy the class.
