This class provides the essential tools for Risk Analysis in Engineering. The module is delivered in three part, where each part is assessed individually.

The first part presents the industry standard tools for Qualitative Risk assessment.

The second part focuses on risk modelling by means probabilistic methods and their application to engineering structures.

The last part provides an introduction of the Monte Carlo method, the most used computational technique for risk analysis.

The first two parts are assessed via computer based quizzes (on-campus) while the third part is assessed via a group project.
