Welcome to ME108 on engineering analysis using numerical (computer-based) methods
This module aims to teach the basic principles of programming and the solution of mathematical and statistical problems with numerical techniques.
Semester 1 is mainly focused on learning and understanding the basics of programming, in the MATLAB environment. Semester 2 is mainly focused on numerical analysis methods, and introduction to probability and statistics with applications and practical examples in the MATLAB environment.
Note, a 10-credit class is generally equivalent to 100 hours of total effort. This includes formal taught lectures and tutorials, and individual study time for reading, thinking and time spent completing the assignments and online assessment activities.
